Ever wondered why so many young people avoid advertising? It’s because most of the people making it don’t bother to speak to young people in the first place. As MD my goal at SELFHOOD was to change that - building a Gen Z community and paying them hard cash to give brands a piece of their mind.
The lack of diversity behind the camera in our industry sucks. We set out to change that at MOFILM. We built a community of thousands of filmmakers and photographers all over the globe, and invited all of them to pitch their ideas to the biggest brands in the world. The work commissioned was scripted, shot and edited by people from all sorts of backgrounds, cultures and ethnicities - and it was far better for it.
Working at Grey during their glory years was a joy: awards galore at a time when some of the best talent in our industry was passing through.
